DAVID GRAUX “NEFERTITI” BALLPOINT PEN PAINTING

“Nefertiti”

Drawing on the theme of autumn with withered flowers and Nefertiti. Instead of representing her with her usual crown, as we know it, she sports a bouquet of withered flowers, from which emerge three beetles and a Cobra. The scarabs symbolize the sun which is reborn of itself, the cycle of life, the sun which returns from the shadows of the night, the being and the becoming in Ancient Egypt. The Cobra, which was depicted on the crown of Nefertiti, is considered the son of Ra, who protects the king symbolizes the flood necessary for life. He is also a destructive force that protects the pharaoh.
